Choose your courses

Study abroad and exchange admissions

If you're interested in opportunities to study overseas as a UQ student, learn more about global experiences.

We offer more than 4,000 courses, many of which offer unique opportunities to discover Australia's diverse environment and cultural heritage.

You'll need to list your course choices in your application. You can search for individual courses across all of our faculties, and we've highlighted some focus areas and courses with field trips to help narrow the options.

How to search for courses

You can search all our courses using the following steps.

1. Start your search

  • Go to UQ programs and courses.
  • Enter a keyword, course code or area of interest in the search box.
  • Select 'Courses' from the drop-down menu next to the search box.

2. Refine your search

On the search results page, you can select filters to refine your search. For example, you can filter results to show only courses that are pre-approved for study abroad or only courses that are offered in a particular semester.

3. View search results

Click on the course code or title to see the course level (undergraduate or postgraduate), semester and campus location.

4. Check course description and requirements

Click on the semester for a short course description and link to a detailed course profile. If a course is not pre-approved, you can list it on your application and we will check with the relevant faculty to ensure that you meet any necessary prerequisites.

Make a note of the course codes you’re interested in as you will need this information to submit your application. Knowing your course codes will also help us assist you with questions about your courses.

Changing courses

You will have plenty of opportunities to change your courses after you accept your place at UQ.

If you are still uncertain about your courses when you arrive, you can talk to an adviser during Orientation week. You can add or drop courses up to the end of the second week of classes.

However, it is your responsibility to make sure that any changes are approved by your home university so that you will receive credit for your courses when you return home.
