Credit or exemption for previous study


If you have completed previous tertiary study, you may be eligible to receive credit for – or exemption from – certain courses in a UQ program.

I've studied at another university

You may be eligible for credit towards a UQ program if you have undertaken previous studies at another university, including Open Learning Australia. 

Search the Credit Precedents Database for a list of courses that UQ has previously assessed for credit applications. 

If you're offered a place in a UQ program, use the online form (login required) to request credit or exemption.

I've studied at TAFE

If you have completed a diploma or advanced diploma at TAFE, you may be eligible for credit towards a UQ program.

International baccalaureate (IB) students can receive up to one semester (8 units) of credit towards a UQ program, depending on the IB courses studied, the grades you achieved, and the program's rules.
