Once you’ve chosen a program, applying to study postgraduate coursework at UQ is straightforward, with applications submitted directly to UQ or through a UQ representative in your country.
Go to the postgraduate coursework program you wish to study, checking you meet all entry and English language proficiency requirements and the application deadline has not passed.
Go to UQ’s online application form and create an applicant account.
Complete all details requested in the online application, uploading all required documentation as per the program entry requirements and any additional information requests. The upload size limit is 12MB. Please upload your documents in PDF format to reduce their file size.
You can save an incomplete form and return later.
You will need to provide complete academic transcripts and/or testamurs of your previous tertiary studies with your application. The transcripts should detail all courses undertaken and any degrees/diplomas awarded. Academic transcripts only for programs not completed at UQ are required.
If you would like to apply for an English language pathway package, you will be able to indicate this during the application process.
Upon providing all required documentation, submit your application.
After submission, you can access your application through your applicant account.
A non-refundable AU$100 application fee will be charged when submitting your application online.
If you are unable to access our online application form, you can download a copy of the postgraduate application form (PDF, 106KB) and submit it by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, in person or by mail to UQ International. A non-refundable AU$150 application fee will be charged when submitting your application via these methods.
Applications to most UQ programs for first semester are due by 30 November of the previous year. For second semester, applications are due by 31 May of the same year. Some programs have earlier closing dates which are detailed on the page of your chosen program.
Late applications may be accepted for many programs, but consideration cannot be guaranteed. You must leave enough time for the University to process your application and to issue an offer. You must also leave enough time to organise your student visa.
Please check your program page to confirm closing dates for applications, as dates can vary.
We can consider applications to commence at UQ up to two years in advance, so an early application is recommended. In addition, some programs have limited places, so we encourage you to apply as early as possible.
