If you need further English language training, we encourage you to study an English language pathway through the Institute of Continuing and TESOL Education (ICTE-UQ).

UQ Foundation Year

UQ Foundation Year is designed to prepare international students for study at UQ. It is appropriate for applicants looking to satisfy UQ's minimum entry requirements. 

Graduates from the Foundation Year are guaranteed an offer to study an undergraduate UQ program, depending on the program’s Entry Requirement Subjects (PDF, 105KB)

Please note that entry is not guaranteed to all UQ programs – admission to programs is still competitive. 

A package that combines ICTE-UQ English language study with UQ Foundation Year is available to students who do not meet UQ Foundation Year English Language Entry Requirements.

UQ College

UQ College offers an alternative entry pathway for students who want to study business.

If you complete the Associate Degree in Business with a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 4 (on a 7-point scale), you may be eligible to apply for UQ's Bachelor of Business Management and receive 24 units of credit (three semesters full-time) toward the bachelor's program.  

The Associate Degree in Business is also a stand-alone qualification.

Upgrading involves improving your entry score or meeting subject prerequisites by studying an alternative UQ program.

If you’re currently studying Year 12 (either in Australia or offshore) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia, submit your application online through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).
