3. Special entry schemes

There are a number of special entry schemes that boost, or in some cases, guarantee your chances of securing a place at UQ.

Special entry schemes are only available for international students who are studying Year 12 in Australia.

Subject Incentive Scheme

All Year 12 students are eligible to apply for the Subject Incentive Scheme, which provides up to five adjustments towards your entry rank.

OP Guarantee Scheme

You are guaranteed a place in most undergraduate programs if you achieve an OP 1–5 (or entry rank equivalent) and satisfy the program's prerequisites.

QTAC manages the Educational Access Scheme, which provides additional support to applicants who may have experienced difficult or adverse personal circumstances.

If you’re currently studying Year 12 (either in Australia or offshore) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia, submit your application online through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).
