Admissions transparency

Admissions transparency

About admissions at UQ

In 2017, the Australian Government asked all public universities to change how we explain admissions processes for domestic undergraduate students.

The first set of changes were about standardising entry score information. These changes were introduced in August 2017. The second set of changes are about standardising terminology – the words we use to explain the admissions process. These have to be in place by May 2018.

By having all public universities explain information in the same way, the government hopes to improve the transparency of university admissions in Australia.

What do these changes mean?

These changes only affect prospective domestic undergraduate students.

If you’re thinking about studying at UQ, or any Australian public university, from May 2018 and beyond, you’ll notice changes in how we communicate in our emails, publications and websites.
