Marine Science Experience Day

Experience a day in the life of a Marine Science student at UQ.

Experience a day in the life of a Marine Science student at UQ.

Attend an interactive lecture on oceanography, participate in a hands-on immersive marine zoology activity, and learn about the diverse range of careers that await you after you complete a Bachelor of Science.

Then enjoy a free light lunch where you can mingle with lecturers, current students, and other like-minded future science students.

What's involved

  • Mini-lecture on Oceanography by Associate Professor Ron Johnstone – this lecture will cover the biological pump content relevant to Unit 4 of the new senior Marine Science syllabus
  • Hands-on marine zoology laboratory activity with Dr Gurion Ang: building practical skills in interpreting cladograms – which relates to subject matter in Unit 3 of the new senior Biology syllabus
  • Information session on the Bachelor of Science program at UQ and pathways into studying marine biology or marine science
  • A free light lunch where you'll meet current staff and students.
