Specifically designed for first-year students, New2UQ offers academic and social orientation activities to help you with your studies so that you can make the most of UQ.

Some topics and advice offered include:

  • who to go to for help
  • how to ask for help
  • time management skills
  • writing assignments in appropriate format
  • how to meet academic staff expectations
  • social and recreational activities
  • career options you may never have considered
  • how to make your CV stand out from the crowd.

Student Help On Campus (SHOC)

Student Help On Campus (SHOC) is a free and independent support service for all UQ students. Brought to you by the UQ Union, SHOC’s qualified and professional staff provide help with matters relating to education and equity, employment, gender and sexuality, legal support, migration and welfare.
