Information sessions for parents, guardians and carers of Year 10 students

Parent of a Year 11 or 12 student? Join us – you're also welcome to attend.

What subjects should your child choose if they want to become a nurse? What careers are possible for a teenager who loves music? Are there any special-entry schemes to give your child an extra boost?

As a parent, guardian or carer, you play an essential role in helping, advising and encouraging your son or daughter.

To ensure you understand all the opportunities available to your child, we invite you to join us on campus for an information session where you can learn more about university.

These interactive sessions are designed to give you the necessary knowledge to help your child make an informed choice about their future.

All sessions are hosted by experienced staff who also graduated from UQ, and run for approximately one hour – with plenty of time for any questions you may have.

Why attend?

You'll have an opportunity to learn about topics including:

  • understanding university language,
  • key differences between high school and university,
  • pathways to UQ programs,
  • QTAC, fees, accommodation and more.

Parents, guardians and carers of Year 10 students are all invited to attend.
