Hi, my name is Hannah and I'm studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at The University of Queensland.

What has been the best thing about your program at UQ?
The best thing about my program is the teachers. They are highly qualified and trained in the various areas of psychology and they provide quality teaching. On top of that, they are friendly, approachable and passionate about teaching students.

Have you had any internship opportunities as part of your studies?
I have done a research internship under a doctorate student in the parenting lab at UQ. During the internship I mainly carried out research tasks like coding videos and reviewing the literature.

I also got the chance to attend one of the seminars held for the parents during the course of the internship. Overall it was an enriching experience as it gave me more insight into the ins and outs of carrying out research study.

What advice would you give people from other countries about studying at UQ?
Get involved with a community! Sometimes it might feel like you have to put in the extra effort to put yourself out there and make new friends but it is so worth it. Your group of friends really becomes your home away from home.

Secondly, make the most out of every opportunity, from small ones (like talking to your lecturers or your tutors about your future in psychology), to taking up internships and work experience.
