Puspita Ningrum, Indonesia

Hi, my name is Puspita and I studied at The University of Queensland.
Hi, my name is Puspita and I studied at Master of Communication at The University of Queensland.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?

My academic journey started when I got the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and make a difference by accepting an Australia Awards Scholarship.

As a public servant in Indonesia, strengthening my local government communication through strategic public relations had been a priority, but there was a lack of understanding of this field in my region.

I chose to do a Master of Communication in the field of Public Relations and Professional Communication at UQ – one of Australia's leading Group of Eight universities.
What did you like most about living in Brisbane?

I made the right decision to study in Brisbane – its warm weather, calm situation, charming people, and safe environment were perfect for my little family. Moreover, as an international student wearing hijab at UQ, I experienced real diversity and equity because I felt welcomed and supported.
What were the best things about your program at UQ?

The Master of Communication program trained my introverted personality to do public speaking, handle media, pitch campaigns and write in English.

This program advanced my professional views by giving both perspectives of ideal and critical public relations. In short, this program empowered me to use communication to become an agent of change for my government.
