Why did you decide to study in Australia and specifically at UQ?

I chose UQ as the courses matched my study field. One of my majors in World Literatures and Cultures provides various and wide ranged knowledge to approach cross-cultural issues, which supports my cultural studies.

What are your career goals and how do you think UQ will help you to achieve these goals?

My goal in the future is to be a television reporter, who introduces diverse cultures all over the world to the viewers. I personally assume that ethnic conflicts and disagreements between nations are caused by misunderstandings due to cultural differences; I believe that education and acceptance towards different cultures would be key for the reconciliations of those problems.

What have been your most memorable experiences at UQ so far?

Going to Mexico as part of a 1-year UQ exchange program was one of my most memorable experiences at UQ.

As a UQ International Ambassador I have had the opportunity to conduct campus tours for Japanese people visiting UQ. This is a good opportunity to promote university life as an international student in Australia to Japanese people.

What do you like most about UQ?

I like the ethnic diversity at UQ. For example, my lecturers are from Chile, China, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Russia, Spain, etc, and they teach us about their own cultures. I really appreciate that I can explore my study in such a multicultural environment.
