5. Student Union Complex

Follow the route on your self-guided map, walking directly through the Great Court arches (exiting near Merlo Cafe), and continue straight until you reach the Student Union Complex.

This complex was built in 1960 and provides a variety of services for more than 40,000 students. This area is home to a number of facilities including the Main Refectory, Campus Pharmacy, UQ Shop, Travel Agent, Hairdresser, Pizza Cafe, Schonell Theatre and the Red Room Bar.

This is where you will also find Student Services, which offers a range of free and confidential services to support your study at UQ, and help make it a positive experience.

Every Wednesday during semester, Campbell Place (in the front of the Union Complex) comes alive with markets with stalls selling books, clothing, jewellery, flowers and more.

Take a break: Stock up on snacks and browse through the UQ Merchandise Shop.
