Field of Study

Animal and Veterinary Bioscience

Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Gatton

In this major you'll learn how animals function, behave and reproduce, and how to improve their health, welfare and interaction with humans.

It combines training in fundamental biological disciplines such as chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy and physiology with courses that examine animals specifically, from the molecular to whole animal and animal population levels.

You'll find employment as an animal production, health and wellbeing consultant, biosecurity officer, conservationist, industry regulator in government agencies or research scientist.
