There are many aspects to this dual major. They include understanding how advanced modelling techniques can ensure the responsible use of natural resources, and how quantitative analysis of scientific problems with computers can solve geological issues.

Career paths can lead to analysing and simulating data in resource and engineering companies, as international contractors, or in government or research agencies as geoscientists, hydrologists, geophysicists, or environmental planners.
