Information for everyone

Schedule

The day starts at 7.45am at the UQ Centre on Union Road:

  • 7.45am: sign-in opens
  • 8.45am: official welcome.

After the welcome, our student ambassadors will take students to and from their sessions. Teachers are welcome to go to the lounge in the UQ Centre.

The day will finish at 3pm.

Food and drink

Teachers and students will be provided with morning tea and a pizza lunch in the UQ Centre Exhibition Hall. Alternatively, you can purchase food from outlets on campus.

Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available. If you have any other dietary requirements, please bring your own lunch.

We are committed to reducing single-use plastics. Please bring your own water bottle and make use of water refill stations around campus.

What to bring

We encourage everyone to bring a:

  • notepad
  • pen
  • water bottle
  • sunscreen and
  • an umbrella, just in case.

Students should wear school uniform and enclosed shoes, for safety purposes. This is particularly important for students who have registered for science, engineering or architecture sessions

Transport and venue

If you're coming to campus via public transport, we recommend catching a bus to the UQ Lakes bus stop, which is closest to the UQ Centre.

If you're getting a lift, we recommend getting dropped off and collected at the P10 car park which is just around the corner from the UQ Centre.

If you’re driving to UQ, please read about parking locations and payment information before you leave home.

Information about school bus parking is available under 'Information for teachers'.

You should wear your school uniform and enclosed shoes, for safety purposes. This is particularly important if you’ve registered for science, engineering or architecture sessions.

Do I have to attend with my school?

No, you are welcome to attend individually, as long as you can organise your own transport to and from campus. You will be fully supervised all day, once you arrive at the event.

Can my parent attend with me?

No, sorry. Due to limited capacity, seminars are only available to students.

Cancelling or changing your registration

Email recruitment.events@uq.edu.au if you can't attend the event, or you’d like to change your chosen sessions before the day.
