Your child, their future

Choosing the right university to attend is one of the most exciting and important decisions your child will make.

As a parent, you want your child to be happy, healthy and successful – it's a natural instinct. And a university education will set your child on the path for a promising future.

During your child’s final school years, it's important to help, support and guide them through their options, so they can begin their university career with confidence.

Your child might know what they want to do – or they might not. What's important is to make a well informed decision about their different university and program options.
There are a number of deadlines to meet when applying for university in Queensland. Many of these dates are managed by organisations that are external to UQ.
University offers can be a time of elation or, for some, disappointment. Whether or not your child receives their first preference – they still have plenty of options.
Starting university is an exciting time, but it can also be a little bit daunting. There are a number of ways you can help your child make the most of their time at UQ.
