Overview

Understand how to lead others to apply Science of Learning principles.

This course will give you an overview of the key developments in the science of learning as they relate to organisational change and strategic planning. You’ll also examine three critical concepts for effective leadership in the science of learning: framing the problem, examining the evidence base, and acting.

This module content is relevant to AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers No. 3, 4, 6, and 7.

Who should attend

  • Educators working in early learning centres, schools, adult education and training, professional and workplace training, or vocational education and training.
  • Educators wanting to pursue leadership roles.

Entry requirements

Relevant undergraduate qualification.

What you'll learn

  • Develop your skills in evaluating and translating research by examining case studies that present a range of evidence.
  • Explore models of leadership in schools, with an emphasis on Instructional Leadership.

Time commitment

This is an online course that will require roughly 30 hours to complete.

  • Over 3 months.
  • Apply by 27 February 2024 to start on 1 March 2024. Apply by 30 July 2024 to start on 2 August 2024.

Assessment

You’ll need to submit a professional learning journal showing your reflections on the content and how it can be applied in your teaching practice.

Earn 0.5 points towards professional development.
