So, you want to create a more sustainable planet.

We can help you with that. Our programs will equip you with the tools to create a viable future for both humanity and the environment, from the local to the global scale. A UQ qualification in agriculture and environment can take you anywhere, but where you go is up to you.

Pursue your passion through a specialisation or focus your studies from the get-go with a bachelor degree in agribusiness, veterinary science, environmental management and more. Postgraduate programs allow you to deepen your knowledge and hone your skills through focused study or research.

Leaders in life sciences

State-of-the-art facilities

Gatton campus is home to some of the best agricultural education and research facilities in the world.

These include a 1054-hectare working farm with animals and horticultural fields, a plant nursery, post-harvest facilities, research laboratories, greenhouses and plenty of machinery.

Get experience in the field

Some programs offer a variety of field trips across Queensland and internationally to locations including Indonesia, Vietnam and Hong Kong.

Fieldwork gives you the chance to broaden your understanding and apply your knowledge in settings beyond the classroom.

As a practical learner, I highly valued the field trips offered during the program. One of the most valuable trips was in western Queensland where we were able to talk to farmers, landholders and managers as well as witness agricultural processes in action. This is something that can’t be gained through a textbook or lecture.
