We only accept a small group of students each year who get to experience a unique and personal education run by internationally respected industry experts and teachers.
Honours is awarded to all graduates of this program, which means you will have a globally recognised degree that will stand out in a competitive job market.

Courses cover advanced topics including financial reporting and strategy, business analysis, environment and methodology of auditing, costing systems and cost management, commercial law and taxation law.
The integrative major capstone course will give you insight into how accounting strategy supports organisations achieve their strategic ambitions.
Business Analytics
You’ll see how analytics is applied to all areas of business from improving business decision making and organisational processes to strategy making.
The courses in this major cover the powerful tools used by business analysts and data scientists, including data visualisation, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and machine learning and deep learning. You'll also look at case studies from across the applied business disciplines, including accounting, finance, human resource management, and marketing.
Learning how to solve real problems, the project-based capstone within the Business Analytics major uses live case studies from participating businesses. Working closely with academic support and industry decision makers, you’ll work on a project and write and present your project findings to an audience including industry representatives.
Business Information Systems
You will learn how to first gather requirements and then how to design, implement and manage IT systems to enhance business decision-making.
This major covers topics including lean thinking, business data and business processes.
Finance
It will teach you to use research methods to understand financial problems, as well as debt and equity capital markets, funds management, real estate as an asset class, and private equity.
You’ll gain an understanding of behavioural finance, and how this underpins financial decision-making, including trading strategies, investment decisions, managerial behaviour, and institutional frictions that influence economic outcomes.
Graduates enjoy careers in corporate finance, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, and management and financial consulting.
Human Resources
This major focuses on all aspects of people management. It will help you develop an understanding of motivation at work, how HR functions identify talent to match the needs of the business, and how organisations ensure that employees gain competence required for their roles.
You'll study topics including employment relations and workplace conflict, selection and recruitment, organisational change, performance management and leadership.
This major covers Australian and international industrial relations and the legal, ethical and evidence-based approaches that underpin decisions about people and stakeholders in organisations. You’ll also develop skills in communication and contract negotiation.
This major will prepare you for a career as an HR manager or consultant in a huge range of industries, designing interventions to support productivity, change or growth, leading (global) teams, and partnering with senior executives to provide advice to boards.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
You'll first be introduced to basic principles of innovation and entrepreneurship, including the entrepreneurial mindset and process. Then, you'll apply this knowledge in practical courses on digital innovation, social entrepreneurship and growth strategies, as well as technology and innovation management.
Through leadership development you will become a resourceful, creative and resilient innovation leader who delivers sustainable commercial and social value. Further extending your skill set, you’ll engage directly in a short placement or consulting project in a startup or commercial partner project.
There will also be the option to develop and grow your own business in an incubator or accelerator within the UQ entrepreneurship ecosystem or beyond.
These deep immersion experiences will move you closer to commercially viable business solutions while establishing valuable networks with potential partners, investors, entrepreneurs and mentors.
International Business
You'll learn how local conditions can affect global business operations. Plus, you'll study key issues including international trade and investment, international marketing, and how firms operate when they engage in international business, finance and strategy.
In the integrative major capstone course, you will work in teams to evaluate a firm’s business and corporate level strategies, identify issues and ethical implications, and evaluate alternative courses of action.
This major will prepare you for a career in a huge range of businesses, government agencies or trade associations.
Marketing
You'll study marketing strategy and customer behaviour, including how personality, lifestyle and culture affect purchasing decisions.
The courses in this major will teach you how to create value through brand management, service and relationship management, and digital and market research strategy. You’ll also gain insight into how advertising management operates in the context of artificial intelligence, ethics and micro-targeting.

This indicative annual fee is the cost of enrolling in the Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) for the 2021 academic year. It is calculated based on a standard full-time study load (16 units per academic year).
If you enrol in a larger or smaller study load, your fees will be calculated on a proportionate basis. All fees are reviewed annually.

This indicative annual fee is the approximate cost of enrolling in a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) in the Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) for one academic year. It is calculated based on a standard full-time study load (16 units over two semesters).
