Bachelors of Mathematics / Business Management

Overview

Open doors to rewarding career opportunities by combining your passion for analytics and mathematics with a grounding in the principles of business management and leadership.

This dual program provides you with a focused background in economic theories and business management principles, along with the in-depth knowledge of a mathematics program.

The Bachelor of Business Management will allow you to develop core business skills. You can then build on these by selecting specialist areas of study including leadership and management science, innovation and entrepreneurship, business economics, business information systems, human resources, international business and marketing.

UQ Business School's lecturers and tutors are industry leaders. Our vast network of industry contacts means you can develop practical experience at some of the world's leading companies.

In the Bachelor of Mathematics, you'll choose to develop a comprehensive specialised knowledge in one field of mathematics or a high level of sophistication in the applications of mathematics. You can then use your knowledge in sectors of the economy beyond the traditional areas of engineering and the physical sciences, such as finance, economics, information technology and molecular biology.

You'll graduate with skills that are in high demand and you'll be ready to take a leadership role across an array of industries.

Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C).
Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C) is recommended. Students studying Specialist Mathematics will have increased flexibility in their studies.

Student visas

International students who are accepted into full-time study in the Bachelors of Mathematics / Business Management are eligible to apply for an Australian student visa (subclass 500).

HECS-HELP

Domestic places in the Bachelors of Mathematics / Business Management are Commonwealth Supported. This means the cost of your education is shared between you and the Australian Government.
