The Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation will teach you about understanding the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in modern business and the benefits they create, including better communities.
Your 24-unit program undertakes an interdisciplinary approach that utilises UQ's leading position in the sciences and their commercialisation, so you can learn how to develop and manage new ideas.
Upon graduation, you'll have a globally recognised qualification that's highly regarded by employers and gives you the skills to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship within any organisation, from a corporation, startup or research organisation to the public sector.

Entry requirements
Prerequisites
- A Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from UQ with a GPA of 4.5; or
- A bachelor degree in same discipline with a GPA of 4.5; or
- A bachelor degree in a different discipline with a GPA of 4.5 and three years of full-time work experience in the same discipline; or
- The Corporate Innovation MicroMasters® credential with at least 65% in the Corporate Innovation Capstone Assessment and three years of full-time work experience in the same discipline.

Student visas
International students who are accepted into full-time study in the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation are eligible to apply for an Australian student visa (subclass 500).
There are a number of requirements you must satisfy before a visa is granted, including the genuine temporary entrant (GTE) requirement.

Design and Information Technology
It builds on core entrepreneurship and innovation principles to hone skills in digital prototyping and designing interaction between humans and technology. Completion of this field will provide a toolkit for entrepreneurs and innovators to better design information technologies for businesses, enhancing the customer experience.
Food Entrepreneurship
ou'll have access to product and technical insight in collaboration with UQ's School of Agriculture and Food Sciences (SAFS) and leading industry partners, and discover how these areas can often lead to globally focused commercial food innovations and breakthroughs.
Social and Community Entrepreneurship
You'll undertake theoretical and applied courses to understand social entrepreneurship through social enterprise, and work in teams on social issues of your choosing to build financially self-sustaining ventures designed for social impact. Importantly, you'll combine this enterprise-level focus with an understanding of how to build communities.
Sustainable Energy
Courses covering sustainable energy and climate change theory will introduce you to the language of energy and give you foundational knowledge of available sustainable energy technologies and global sustainability. You'll also have the opportunity to conduct sustainability analyses of real-life organisations and assess their situation and present solutions.

This indicative annual fee is the cost of enrolling in the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation for the 2021 academic year. It is calculated based on a standard full-time study load (16 units per academic year).
If you enrol in a larger or smaller study load, your fees will be calculated on a proportionate basis. All fees are reviewed annually.
